Happy 2022!

SideStix Ambassadors of the Month 2021

Can the light in one person be enough to change a world? We think so.

It’s certainly enough to change our world at SideStix. We want to thank our SideStix community for sharing their stories with us. Every testimony received is a bright moment in our day. Your stories of adapting and rediscovering life inspire us to stay on the path and continue developing and providing quality equipment that is much-needed in the world of assistive mobility devices.

In 2021, SideStix made a few great additions to the company, starting with Kelly Perreur-Lloyd.  Kelly became our one-person “customer service” department. This one-person show isn’t easy to pull off, and he has to wear many hats.  Kelly’s doing a fabulous job ensuring your e-mails get answered promptly, and following up on details so that your order is complete and delivery is on schedule. We also launched a new product: the Large FinGrip. Despite the supply chain issues most companies are facing, including ours, we managed to stay on schedule and meet most of our customers’ needs.

I understand the challenges of loss. There are times I feel overwhelmed. This past year, I had health issues that landed me in a wheelchair for three months. At the same time, my dear friend died of cancer.  My world stopped for a while. I needed to relive the truth of how to take a step forward. As psychologist Carl Rogers put it, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself, just as I am, then I can change.” A new world opened to me by embracing who I am in the moment and then adapting. We are never alone but connected by our humanity.  Through our shared stories of adversity and empowerment, we can find solidarity in another. We can and must be the light that can change a world for another, for ourselves. The choice is ours to make.

We wish you all a Happy New Year, and thank you for continuing to follow us on our journey!
